Assessment Batteries

The three most common assessments batteries that PECS is requested to conduct are:

All three of these standardised assessment batteries are provided at a heavily discounted price when compared to the costs that would be charged according to the APS Recommended Fee Schedule.

Furthermore, rebates are often available from Medicare and Private Health Insurers which further reduces the cost incurred by the patient/client.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessment: $1395

(for ADHD, Intellectual Developmental Disorder, etc)

  • An initial consultation to gather background information
  • A range of psychological and socio-emotional checklists
  • An assessment using the WISC-V or WAIS-IV (1½ hour IQ test investigating cognitive ability and intellectual strengths and weaknesses across a maximum of 16 areas)
  • Scoring and analysis of results
  • A written report (approximately 25pp) detailing the results and providing interpretations
  • A subsequent consultation to discuss the results with the client/parents
  • Provision of the report to the referring health / education professional

 

Comprehensive Psychological and Educational Assessment: $1895

(for the initial diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorder, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, etc)

  • An initial consultation to gather background information
  • A range of psychological and socio-emotional checklists
  • An assessment using the WISC-V or WAIS-IV (1½ hour IQ test investigating cognitive ability and intellectual strengths and weaknesses across a maximum of 16 areas)
  • An assessment using the WIAT-III (1½ hour educational test which assesses reading, written expression, spelling, and mathematics)
  • Scoring and analysis of results
  • A written report (approximately 35pp) detailing the results and providing interpretations
  • A subsequent consultation to discuss the results with the client/parents
  • Provision of the report to the referring health / education professional

 

Comprehensive Functional Academic Assessment: $1495

(for reassessing Specific Learning Disorder, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, etc. A cognitive test is not administered)

  • An initial consultation to gather background information
  • A range of psychological and socio-emotional checklists
  • An assessment using the WISC-V or WAIS-IV (1½ hour IQ test investigating cognitive ability and intellectual strengths and weaknesses across a maximum of 16 areas)
  • An assessment using the WIAT-III (1½ hour educational test which assesses reading, written expression, spelling, and mathematics)
  • Scoring and analysis of results
  • A written report (approximately 35pp) detailing the results and providing interpretations
  • A subsequent consultation to discuss the results with the client/parents
  • Provision of the report to the referring health / education professional
  • Incorporation of previous WISC-V or WAIS-IV (1½ hour IQ test investigating cognitive ability and intellectual strengths and weaknesses across a maximum of 16 areas) results into the report

 

The waiting period for large-scale assessment appointments is approximately 21-28 working days and the full assessment reports are completed within 10 working days of the assessment.
